New Referral Program
At AHIM we are always looking for ways to assist you in building your business and serving your clients’ needs. Agents/brokers, supporting every county in the state and having enrolled more than 38,000 Arkansans last year, play a key role in ensuring the success of the Exchange.
To better support you, we will soon be launching a new, locally-supported consumer referral program making it easier for consumers with questions about Marketplace enrollment to connect with an agent/broker in their area.
The program will be introduced prior to the November 1 initiation of 2019 Open Enrollment. Watch for additional information, over the next couple of weeks, on how you can benefit from participation. You’ll be hearing more soon.

New CMS Guidance for Hardship Exemptions
CMS has posted new guidance regarding an additional option that consumers will have to claim a hardship exemption from the individual shared responsibility payment via their federal tax return. For 2018 federal returns, consumers may claim all hardship exemptions without presenting the documentary evidence generally required.
This change will apply to the 2018 tax year only. For all other years, consumers can still apply for hardship exemptions through the current Federal exemption application process. CMS-issued guidance can be accessed by clicking here.
As always, I am available to provide information or assistance that enables you to best serve the needs of your clients. Feel free to contact me at email@example.com or (501) 246-1527.
