Arkansas Marketplace: Licensure, Enrollment and Benefits

In an effort to help keep you informed as we lead up to the November 1 Marketplace Open Enrollment Period, let me offer the following information/reminders which I hope you find helpful.

This message is being directed to all Life and Health Agents licensed in the state of Arkansas.

Exchange Producer Licensure

2019 Federal Training for Exchange Producers is now available for license renewal. However, let me remind you that, if you are currently an Exchange Producer, the Arkansas Insurance Department only accepts 2019 renewals 50 days out from the date that your license expires. What that means is current Exchange Producers should wait until August 11, 2018 to apply for license renewal and to pay the renewal fee.

Only Federal Training (now available) and application/renewal fee are required. There are no requirements for State Training and background checks for license renewals.

Enrollment Has Never Been Easier

We know that initially there were challenges with enrollment in Marketplace plans. We understand that some Exchange Producers chose not to renew their licenses in light of these challenges. Those challenges have been overcome and enrollment in Marketplace plans has never been easier. Exchange Producer licensure is now all online and easier to complete.

New Exchange Producers are encouraged to make application now for Arkansas licensure. It’s easy to do. Simply visit the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace website by clicking here. Then, simply scroll down the page to the section addressing Initial Assister Licensure and follow the steps-by-step instructions. All links related to Federal and State Training, background checks and the application for licensure are included.

Marketplace Benefits

Through the Marketplace your clients can access comprehensive, affordable health insurance, provided by major Arkansas carriers. Premium costs vary in relationship to household size and income, meaning plans are affordable for most Arkansans. All Marketplace plans are guarantee issue with full benefits beginning on the first day of coverage.
